- CYR-PSI-20260921-SEA-ANGEL-SAMPLE
- Evidence checked
- 21 September 2026
CYR has not inspected this vessel. Advert statements are not verified condition, title or sale prices. This is a dated snapshot, not a live availability check.
1) Overall buyer view
Confidence level: limited. Advert wording and buyer input are not an inspection or confirmation from the seller.
The example buyer requires three separate cabins. The advert does not consistently establish that requirement. Do not treat a convertible dining area as a confirmed third private cabin.
2) Boat snapshot and fit
Example brief: UK or northern France motor cruiser; three separate cabins, two engines and two heads
Evidence label: “Verified from advert” means that the wording was found in the linked advert, not that CYR has verified the boat or seller’s claims. Buyer-supplied facts require separate checking.
Budget distinction: the asking price is £20,000 below the example £120,000 purchase ceiling. If that ceiling must also fund ownership, the reserve needs its own budget; it is not automatically enough.
3) Missing information and practical blockers
- Original ownership, VAT and any finance-clearance evidence.
- Dated service invoices and a recent independent condition assessment.
- Confirmed layout, current availability and an agreed sea-trial/inspection plan.
Missing evidence is not proof of a defect. It is a reason to ask a specific question before committing.
4) Key risks and comparable context
Engine, shaft-drive, age and maintenance exposure require records and professional checks, not assumptions based solely on appearance.
| Advert and differences | Asking price |
|---|---|
| 1999 Sealine F43 — Windsor, BerkshireHard Graft II: same model and advertised TAMD63P engines; two years newer. Two cabins, 2022 generator and July 2026 upholstery are advertised. Service invoices and condition are not verified. | £124,950Checked 21 September 2026 |
| 1997 Sealine F43 — Dartmouth, DevonSame year and advertised TAMD63P shaft-drive configuration. About 800 hours, two cabins and 2026 seacocks/antifoul are stated; the radar is disclosed as not functioning. Condition differences prevent a direct valuation. | £127,950Checked 21 September 2026 |
| 1998 Sealine F43 — Largs, ScotlandSerendipity: one year newer; two cabins, generator, stern thruster and dated maintenance/upgrades are advertised. Different equipment and a more distant location; service claims need invoices. Not an identical substitute. | £139,995Checked 21 September 2026 |
This is a small selected set of asking prices, not achieved sales, an appraisal or proof of underpricing. Equipment, maintenance, location and condition differ. No numerical adjustments are invented. Availability and prices must be rechecked before a decision.
5) Priority seller questions
- The listing field says three cabins, but the narrative describes two cabins and a convertible dinette. Please send a layout plan confirming the number of separate enclosed sleeping cabins.
- Please provide both engines’ current hour readings, serial numbers and itemised service invoices, including gearbox and cooling-system work.
- The advert dates replacement shafts, propellers and P-brackets to November 2016. What prompted that work, and are invoices and alignment records available? Do not infer damage without evidence.
- Please provide title and VAT documents supporting the advert claims, recent survey/insurance findings, and the latest antifoul/anode records.
- Which yard can safely lift the boat’s confirmed beam and weight for an independent survey and engineer inspection?
Ask for written answers and supporting records. An assertion in an advert is not an invoice or an independent inspection.
6) Three-year cost planning — evidence and assumptions
Only the berthing rate below is a published supplier tariff. The remaining figures are explicitly chosen budget allowances to stress-test affordability, not researched repair quotations or predicted costs. This is not a full ownership-cost forecast.
Milford Marina, 1 April 2026–31 March 2027: £481.08 per metre for a standard annual berth. At 13.24 m that is about £6,369 per year, before unconfirmed extras. Confirm chargeable length, tax treatment and a suitable berth with the marina.
| Item and basis | Lower scenario | Higher scenario |
|---|---|---|
| Three years of example berthing at Milford Marina13.24 m × published £481.08 per metre for the 2026/27 standard annual contract. Low: current rate held for three years. High: an assumed 5% rise in years two and three, not a marina forecast.Published tariff calculation; berth availability, chargeable length, taxes and extras must be confirmed with the marina. Electricity and fuel excluded. | £19,108 | £20,080 |
| Routine twin-engine servicing — chosen budget allowanceIllustrative allocation of £1,500–£3,000 a year for both engines together over three years. Not an engineer quotation or an estimate of identified work.CYR scenario assumption only. Obtain a TAMD63P-specific service quotation. Excludes major repairs, cooling-system overhauls and yard work to avoid double counting. | £4,500 | £9,000 |
| Annual lift, antifoul and anodes — chosen budget allowanceIllustrative allocation of £1,500–£2,500 per year for three yard visits including consumables. A yard able to lift this beam must quote the actual work.CYR scenario assumption only. Milford lists a 4 m lift beam limit, below Sea Angel’s advertised 4.11 m. Its lift tariff is NOT applied to this boat. | £4,500 | £7,500 |
| Unscheduled repair reserve — not predicted expenditureA chosen cash reserve across three years for possible cooling, shaft/seal, electrical or domestic-system work. Not a diagnosis, quoted repair bill, expected loss or maximum exposure.CYR stress-test assumption. Reserve is separate from scheduled service and yard costs; major engine replacement or structural work can exceed it. | £5,000 | £15,000 |
| Pre-purchase survey, engineering check and suitable liftOne-off buyer-selected planning allowance before purchase, not repeated annually. Scope, access and travel must be priced by the surveyor, engineer and suitable yard.CYR scenario assumption only; no supplier quotation obtained. No booking or inspection has been made. | £1,500 | £3,000 |
Not included: fuel, insurance, electricity, visitor berths, travel/delivery, finance, depreciation and optional upgrades. Get a suitable-yard quote and machinery inspection before substituting real numbers. Do not add a second engine-service allowance to these figures.
7) Viewing and sea-trial plan
Before travel
Resolve requirements conflicts, request records and confirm availability. Agree an independent surveyor and a suitable lift rather than assuming local facilities can handle the boat.
At the boat
Check the actual cabin privacy and access; test domestic systems and each fitted helm station. Ask the engineer to observe cold starts, operating temperatures, leaks, vibration and charging under suitable sea-trial conditions.
After the viewing
Match findings to invoices and obtain written work quotations. Photographs and successful starts do not establish machinery or structural condition.
8) Negotiation and what not to do yet
Use confirmed defects, overdue work supported by records, or material specification differences to frame questions. Do not convert an asking-price gap, vessel age or an unspent contingency into an automatic discount demand.
Do not pay a deposit based on this report alone, assume title/VAT from an advert tick-box, or treat the planning range as a limit on repair costs.
9) Conclusion and next step
This report is not a marine survey, engineering inspection, formal valuation or legal opinion. Seller replies, inspection findings and booking arrangements are not verified by this report.
